Why Energy from Waste Matters
EfW plants reduce landfill use and contribute to the UK’s electricity supply. Baldovie EfW aims to generate 9MW to the national grid, supplementing older facilities and meeting growing energy demand.
MVV Environment Baldovie: Project Goals
The new plant will expand capacity with a “third line” adding 110,000 tonnes per year. This complements existing lines, replacing the original Baldovie incinerator, and ensures reliable power generation as older plants close.
Construction Timeline
Construction began in 2018, with commissioning expected in Spring 2020. The recruitment drive focuses on partially supplementing operations and maintenance teams for the three lines.
