Control Room Operator/CRO – Biomass Power Plant

Astute People has partnered with a global group that own and operates a range of power plants. We are currently looking for a control room operator to join a Biomass power plant in North East Georgia.

We’re keen to speak with Operators from a power generation, heavy engineering or process plant background.

Responsibilities & duties.

Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be responsible for…

• Overseeing the safe & efficient operation of all plant & machinery.
• Following strict operating procedures to operate the distributed control system (DCS) to control boilers, steam turbine & ancillary equipment.
• Use PLC controls to manage the wood yard & wood drying equipment.
• Ensure maximum plant availability to ensure uninterrupted power generation to the grid.
• Monitoring & recording all pressures, temperatures & fuel consumption of the machinery.
• Carry out site walks to identify any issues with equipment.

Professional qualifications and experience.

We are looking for someone with the following…

• DCS configuration experience (Siemens 3000 is preferred)
• knowledge of boiler plant and auxiliary systems.
• PLC / DCS experience.
• 5 years’ experience in a similar control room environment (Chemical, Refinery, Steel, Heavy Engineering etc)
• The ability to lift heavy equipment and (up to 50-lbs)
